Another first...

Harrison has a few more firsts to add to his list. Yesterday before all the craziness of Thanksgiving, we took him to Bass Pro Shop to visit Santa for the first time. I know this is super early but I didn't want to get stuck in lines later. It was perfect! There was one kiddo in front of us and we were out of there in 5 minutes. Harrison thought Santa was very intriguing. As soon as Adam gave him to Santa, Harrison turned to Santa to look at his hat, glasses, beard and fuzzy trim on his suit! I have to admit, it was a great Santa! I think we might start doing this as our Santa tradition!!
Santa is one interesting guy!
As for the next first, yesterday was Harrison's first Thanksgiving! Even though he wasn't quite ready for turkey, stuffing or even pumpkin pie, he had a great time playing with all of his cousins. It's amazing how this little guy just draws the girl cousins in!
Don't you love my shirt? My cousins are awesome!
And finally, after Santa and our Thanksgiving feast, we went on our traditional drive down to the Plaza to check out the newly lit Plaza lights. Unfortunately Harrison wasn't awake to see it, but it still was his first trip to see them. (Don't worry, we went down after the crowds dispersed.)

Happy Fall, y'all!

We really are those crazy people. We have taken Harrison on TEN flights (3 trips) since he was born. The little man is 7 months and he's been to Hilton Head, SC, Findlay, OH and now Baton Rouge, LA. I'm pretty sure he has more frequent flier miles than I did before I met Adam. This past weekend we went to Baton Rouge to visit family... Okay it's Adam's step-family but still it's family. Harrison was okay on the plane - teething and flying just don't mix.
What? I'm innocent I swear.
Harrison got to meet his baby cousin Lillian. He thought she was pretty interesting. He wanted to grab the bow on her headband and chew on her hand!
Miss Lil was quite the character!
We also got to go to the LSU Homecoming game and tailgate! Those Tiger fans are very intense tailgaters. We saw tents, generators, flat screen TVs and TV satellite disks. Harrison spent the evening with GJ while Adam and I had amazing seats at the game!
Harrison in his new LSU onesie and with his Mike the Tiger lovey. Cousin Camden got in on the action too.
All in all it was a great weekend! I'm really glad Harrison could meet his Louisiana family - I just wish we could have stayed longer!

Until next time, bye y'all!

Time to get spoiled!

Harrison is one lucky boy!! His Grandma T. from Ohio is coming to visit this week! Grandma hasn't seen him since his June baptism so she'll be SO surprised to see how big he's gotten. And he has that tooth now too! When Grandma last saw Harrison he was 7-8 lbs and wearing 0-3 month clothes. Now he's over 15 lbs and wearing 6 month clothes!
There I am at my baptism - I slept through the whole thing.
Grandma will definitely get her fill of our little mister. She's going to be babysitting him while Adam and I are at work. I hope she's all ready for our always talking, always moving rollie pollie. Harrison will definitely keep her busy!
This is from the first time Grandma held me. I was almost 4 wks old, but still a tiny guy!

We have ourself a TOOTH!

Guess what Grandma discovered? A TOOTH! Harrison has his first tooth! Monday afternoon my mom was watching Harrison and noticed he was chomping on his pacifier quite excessively. She put her thumb in to see how he was doing on the tooth front and SHA-BAM she found a tooth! Yep, one of those beloved bottom ones is there. It's barely above the gum, but that little guy is sharp!
We have been waiting for this first tooth for 2 months. Around 4 months is when the waterworks started in Harrison's mouth. Talk about a drooler! I had my first tooth at 4 months, so we for sure thought this meant he was getting a tooth. Every time he got fussy it was "oh, he must be getting that tooth." However, nothing. We went to his four and six month doctor appointment and it was nothing but gums in that mouth.
Pretty soon my smile will have white, shiny teeth!
So here we are - 6 months, 3 weeks and 1 day - and we have ourself a TOOTH! It's just crazy! I'll get you a picture as soon as I can see the tooth clearly and pry his mouth open enough to snap a shot. I'm sure that will be a fun adventure!
