A quick catch-up

So the holidays have come and gone, and I'm still here putting off covering them. It's not that the holidays were bad. They were in fact excellent! It's just I think about posting at the most inopportune times; right before bed, at school, first thing in the morning as I'm getting ready for school... You get the idea. So here I am. Ready to smoosh Christmas and New Year's into one.

Christmas
Christmas was amazing! Adam and I went a little nuts for Harrison.
Whoa Nelly! Went a little crazy there.
In our defense, it's the first Christmas we could get the really cool toys. A kitchen. A keyboard that he could "scratch" on with a real, functioning microphone. The Little People safari set. You get the idea. We now own a Toys R Us in our tv room.
Christmas Eve we went to Mass and then had my parents over for dinner. We busted out the fancy wedding china, drank out of our crystal glasses and ate in the dining room. Right after dinner we headed back to the tv room to relax.
Waiting for Grandma and Grandpa so we can eat!
I was so excited for Christmas Day! I could just picture Harrison flying down the stairs. Excited for all of his gifts! I think he was excited but he went to the first thing he saw and started playing.
What's under the tree?
Adam and I pretty much opened his gifts from all of our family. He showed interest once the paper was off, demanded we opened the box and then went back to playing. We decided to save our gifts to him for later in the day.
My very own kitchen!
We went over to my parents' for breakfast and to open some more presents. When we came home we were all worn out. Straight to bed for a nap then up again to finish unwrapping all those gifts (I told you we went nuts!).
Mommy, I'm ready for a nap.
All in all, a wonderful, family-filled Christmas!

New Year's
This year we laid low for New Year's Eve. Harrison played like crazy with all of his new toys while we hosted my parents for dinner. Well, let me rephrase. We invited them over to make some ravioli with homemade pasta. Good god, that was an experience. Between the amount of flour we're still finding in the kitchen to the pasta maker failure to watching my dad try to tell my mom how to do it... It was a mess.
They're smiling here but it wasn't all smiles.
We ended up with a few edible ravioli but we all agreed something wasn't quite right. On the other hand my mom's pasta sauce was excellent. I guess there's a reason we've never tackled this one before.

Well until next time - Happy end of January!
