March is HERE!

We truly have been blessed with such a mild winter (after last winter, I'll take it!). It's been really nice to be able to go to the park so many times already and we even got a zoo visit in! This week is my Spring Break so Harrison and I have had lots of fun things planned. We were thinking of going to Ohio but at the same time, I was kinda excited just to stay put. Here's our week in review!

Friday: Adam was so sweet and surprised me with tickets to the Big 12 Tournament. Harrison stayed at home and spent some quality time with Grandma M.
Sweet seats - just happened to be on the MU side though..
We had amazing seats! Really wish the KU game ended better but what can you do. We did end up on TV though - thanks Ann for the picture!
There we are standing up! Crazy!

Saturday: Harrison and I went over to Grandma M's house and she surprised him with some new toys!!
A slide? For ME?
Harrison played outside for a bit and then we went in for a snack. Grandma gave us the cool toys so we took them home with us!
Teeter totter!
The slide currently resides in our TV room and makes a great lounger when someone is tired and wants to watch TV. The other two are in the garage for outside play. Every time we walk by the car Harrison runs over to it, says "car" and then pushes every button possible.
Check out my new ride!!

Sunday: Well, of course there was a fun rain storm going on but we still went to visit our friend Catelin! She works at Land of Paws - Harrison found a million things to play with. We somehow managed to only leave with a new ball for our dogs and some Easter treats for them. Harrison took the treats up to the puppies asking them for their approval. It was pretty funny.
So do you think these look okay?

Monday & Tuesday: Harrison went to daycare both days. Adam was off Monday so we got some cleaning done around the house and had a fun date day. Both days we also went to the park in the late afternoon/early evening. Monday we went to a bigger park, with about 100 of our closet friends...
Going down the big boy slide!
Tuesday Harrison and I just went to the smaller park close to our house.
I climbed halfway to the top!

Wednesday: Adam was off Wednesday so we took a family field trip to the zoo with some friends! We packed our lunch and loaded up to see all the animals. Harrison was a little frustrated at first, he wanted to be out of his stroller walking around. He also didn't want to give up his pacifier - it's like he knows the end is near...
On the train with mommy!
He did have lots of fun riding on the train, tram, merry-go-round.
I'm on the UMKC Kangaroo. (Not kidding, says it on the side!)
And our last crazy adventure was the skyway. Think ski lift but over part of the zoo.
Look daddy - we're way up here!
The skyway was a bit nerve wrecking but it was fine. We did see 3 hats that must have fallen off and were in the zoo exhibits. By 1pm all three of us were tired so we headed home!
I had a fun day at the zoo!!

Thursday: Thursday morning Harrison and I went to a St. Pat's party with our church group. It was a ton of fun!! It was at the mall so there was lots of room for the kiddos to run around.
I'm playing in green rice (and making a mess too!).
We had green play dough, green rice, a name game, a lime sherbet drink, and green rice krispies.
Play dough!!
The party was awesome and it was nice to be around a group of kids close to Harrison's age! When we got home, Harrison was so inspired he decided to decorate Eddie for St. Pat's a few days early! (Thank god Eddie is patient.)
Eddie you need some green!

Friday: Friday Harrison and I were invited over to our friends' house. We planned a picnic lunch for the playground. Okay... I'm not going to lie... The walk was long and mostly uphill but it made me feel better about eating a gigantic piece of cheesecake the night before.
Riding the wagon with Laney. Cool dude sunglasses!
After bestie Stacy almost killed me on the walk, we got to the most amazing school playground! I would tell you the school but then I'd have to kill you... The equipment was super nice and clean. It had cool astroturf. Nothing was overly dangerous for the little ones. It was awesome! We played for a bit and then we camped out on our blanket to eat our PB&J picnic lunch - yum!
This slide is really fast!!

Well that's pretty much our Spring Break week! Lots of outdoor fun and lots of friends to play with!
Happy March!

February in a nutshell!

At first I was too busy for a post, now I'm just flat out avoiding it. I feel guilty and really far behind. So here we go. February in a nutshell.

Valentine's Day
Oh Pinterest, where have you been all of my life?! If it wasn't for you, I wouldn't have these super cute goodies for Harrison's friends and my friends at school (that I stayed up late working on...).
Hey, I'm trying to be domestic!
Harrison had a great time making valentines at daycare.
Chillin' with my friends - getting crafty.
He also had a great time eating a ton of pink frosting!
All sugared up and ready to go home!!!

President's Day
President's Day brought tons of fun for our house! I had that Friday and Monday off like normal, but instead of just hanging out I was playing nurse to this patient.
Someone tore their meniscus.
Adam had surgery on Friday morning for his torn meniscus. He actually stayed awake during surgery to watch it... Where has my husband gone? He has recovered amazingly and really was up moving within a couple of days of surgery. (Thank goodness because I'm not really the care taker type... )
It was actually difficult to get him to just stay still...

Wedding Weekend
We also had a family wedding to attend towards the end of February. We all traveled to New Orleans to see cousin Chase marry Jeanne Marie! We had SO much fun seeing all of our cousins, Uncle Matthew and GJ! Of course, it was warmer in Kansas than New Orleans but what else is new..?
From walking the French Quarter to eating brunch at Court of Two Sisters to swimming at the hotel - we had lots of fun!
Although Harrison was a little antsy during the wedding ceremony, he let loose during the reception! Little man was all over the place! He has moves that no one has ever seen before. Wow. Thank goodness cousin Lillian was right there with him, jamming to the live band.
My Louisiana family is awesome! I got to meet cousin Eloise and dance with Lillian, Lindsey and Brandi!
The day after the wedding we wandered around the French Quarter one last time. We met up with family for some beignets - they are so good every time! We said our goodbyes and headed back home.
I'm so glad I could see GJ and play with Brandi, Lillian and Addison. Those beignets were good (and messy) too!
Hands down - this was one of my favorite parts of February.
A sleepy baby on a plane ride home. Just never gets old.
Hope you had a great February too!
