Look who's walking!

At 13 months 1 week and 5 days, Harrison started taking his official first steps. He was at home with Daddy. He wouldn't walk very much unassisted but he would take a couple of steps before losing his balance or choosing to drop to his knees to crawl.
I'm a moving man!
At the 13 months 3 weeks 3 days mark, Harrison is doing a much better job at standing, taking multiple steps and getting up/getting down without having to hold on to furniture. He loves talking while he's playing. He loves his big furry dog (it makes for a soft cushion to fall on). And he loves any toy that makes noise and moves (yeah....).
I'm taking a water break.
We have one week until swim lessons start. I'm worried the water will be cold and Harrison will cry. I'm worried about what all the other moms will look like in their swim suits. Oh well. Harrison and I did go pick out our own swimming pool for our yard. It's super cute, not too big, has toys and was on sale! Ah... summer is here!

Mom on a one week crash diet... That I'll start tomorrow...

Lots of baby boys!

No not us. Trust me, I'd tell you. But there has been a HUGE baby boy boom lately! Let's see from January to now we've had: Baby Drew, Baby Jack, Baby Graham, Baby Conner, Baby Cooper, Baby Dominic, Baby Noah and Baby Westin... Whew, that's a lot for Team Blue and I didn't name all of them!
Westin and I are pretty tight. It's like he knows I'm amazing or something!
This past weekend I was very lucky that I got to hang out with Westin, Cooper and Dominic. They range in age from 5 days to 6 weeks. I love them all!! I miss the brand new, tiny baby thing. Oh I love my baby boy insanely but he doesn't cuddle or need me in the same way they need their mommas right now. Sigh... It's a good thing I'm friends with mommas popping out babies left and right then:0) I can sneak in on their snuggle time but I also get to leave when the little misters start crying or poop! Yes, I'm a fair weather snuggler!
Mom, of course I still need you. My diaper is stinky!
Tonight our entire math department visited one of our own, Baby Westin's mom. Westin surprised us all and decided he needed to get out last Friday. Lucky Renee, her water broke at school! (Makes for a great birth story, don't you think?) Anyway, we had a great time catching up, cuddling (with Westin of course) and Harrison busted out a couple steps for the viewing audience! Harrison also got a huge kick out of Saige, Westin's older sister. I love baby laughs!!
Mom, can Saige come over and play? I like her!!
I'm really looking forward to summer play dates and watching all of our baby boy friends grow!
Mom of one crazy boy,

It's exercise time!

Almost every time we go to my parents' house, we break out the piano. No we don't mean the real piano, we mean the exersaucer-type-thing that has a piano on the floor. (Look at the pictures and you'll know what I mean.)
Mom, I'm a very bald baby!!
Anywho, Harrison was 4 months old the first time we attempted to use it. Harrison's feet barely reached the ground. We had to stuff a towel behind him to keep him propped up. And he tried to eat the front of the seat the whole time. Needless to say, the toy was very quiet then. He couldn't reach any of the noisy accessories.
I know. A St. Louis bib? And yes, they were feeding me.
Last week we went over to see Grandma and Grandpa (and mooch some dinner!). Harrison hasn't played with his piano recently so we thought it was a perfect time to pull it out. Yikes! That boy is tall enough to climb out of it! I mean really, he looked like he could walk right out!
Ah, Mom? I don't think I need the seat part anymore.
Oh course he can reach all of the toys now. It's amazing how many sounds come out of this thing. (Really what is it? Exersaucer? Walker?) Harrison new favorite thing is pulling off the little purple tray, dropping it on the piano, then bending all the way over to look at it. Nice. It's amazing the whole thing hasn't tipped. (It won't, we tried.)
And there goes the tray... again...
Happy Tuesday!

So close!!

Harrison is this close to taking his first steps. He can pull up on just about anything. He can stand without holding on to anything. He can cruise around our furniture. But, when he goes to take that step towards us, his legs just give out.
This is my favorite toy to play with while standing!
When we hold our arms out to him, he laughs and smiles really big as to say, "Are you sure you want me to walk?" Oh well. We're not in any rush, but I am excited to see him start teetering around.
Yes I'm always holding my sippy cup! I can drink while standing too.
Be on the look out for a walking baby!

School's out for summer... almost

You can tell when it's the end of the school year. The students are antsy, have no focus and can't remember anything to save their life. I can't write on the board clearly, speak coherently or even figure out my plans. Really, we're all breaking down. On top of all of this my poor little blog hasn't had a new post since April 29th (I think). Oops. I've really let myself go.
However, all of this does mean that summer is almost here and we all know what that means!! Super hot weather? Swim lessons? Sleeping in? Yes to all of that but also...

S.S.A.H.M status!! Summer Stay At Home Mom!!

This is how I eat soup. Got a problem?
Really, who wouldn't want to stay at home all summer with this super stud? I can't imagine the adventures we'll have:0)

TEN more days of school!!!
