Happy October!!

   So I love the fall. I especially love the fall when it follows a really hot July and August. Plus my birthday is in the fall. And I like candy... a lot. Fall just rocks my socks! Our fall weather has finally started to set in for good. Windows open during the day, blankets needed at night. I am so happy!! Fall also means we get to pull out our Halloween decor, plan Harrison's costume and take a trip to the pumpkin patch.

OMG!!! There are so many little pumpkins and gourds!

   We were so lucky that Adam was off a Saturday this month and we hauled it out to a local pumpkin patch. I totally thought it wouldn't be all that. It was $8 for each of us (Harrison was free). There were tons of things to do, but I thought Harrison would be too young. However, I was wrong-o!

My first train ride. I look so mature. Daddy walked beside me so I wouldn't escape.

   Harrison rode in a train, struck a couple of poses, played on a wooden train, petted goats (of course), played with pumpkins, went through the corn maze, went down a huge slide, and helped us pick out the perfect little pumpkin.

Mom and dad think this is hilarious. Me? Not so much.

   It was a great time! We met up with some friends from church and had tons of fun just walking around seeing what all the other kids were up to.

   I'm so glad we took the trip! We will definitely go back again and an amazing nap followed our fun afternoon!

New kicks!

   I saw these shoes in a store and just couldn't say no! It seems that all the Peak men have a pair of zigs so I had to get Harrison a pair. (Plus they were on sale.) These are Harrison's first "grown-up" athletic shoes!

I know - everything is way cuter when it's smaller.

   Harrison has been unstoppable since we got these new shoes! When I first put them on, he stomped around the room. He loves the noise they made on wood/tile floors. I think they've also helped him learn about to run (and stop) way more effectively.

All this extra traction helps me climb up the slides.

   Maybe they've even made him smarter... I mean he is attempting a rubix cube. And 5 minutes later... he's still playing with it... Oh well. We'll try again in a week.

Who needs toys?

   Last weekend I took Harrison for a walk. I should be doing this more often... Anyway, the weather has been really nice so we took advantage. I was heading for the park but detoured at the elementary school playground.

Watch out for that hole!

   Some of the equipment looked smaller so we took a chance. Harrison was obsessed with the pebbles! He didn't know how to walk on them at first. It was hilarious watching him. It was like he couldn't find his sea legs. Once he got the hang of it, he started bending down to get a closer look them.

   Before I knew it, Harrison was elbows deep in the pebbles. He would grab two handfuls then sprinkle them on the ground. Then repeat... a thousand times...

Girls sprinkle fairy dust. Boys sprinkle PEBBLES!!

   Yes we were a bit dusty. Yes I made a huge mess when trying to wash his hands off at the water fountain on the path. Yes my poor stroller took off in the wind while we were playing (which had to have been a funny sight to the people walking by on the trail). But Harrison and I had a great time. Who needs toys anyway?

My Ohio family

   This past week/weekend Harrison took his annual fall trip to visit his Ohio family (with Adam of course.. hello...). He had a BLAST!

I love visiting my Ohio family!! 

   Our Thiele family and our Peak family couldn't believe how big Harrison is, how fast he is moving and how much noise he is making. He ran around Cincinnati and Findlay showing off for everyone! However his favorite part of the trip was playing with his doggies.

Harrison was lucky to see all of his aunts and uncles as well.

Needless to say Harrison slept really well after all of this play time.

   We're sad our trip wasn't longer but we're all really happy we were able to take some time off for a fall Ohio trip! I'm hoping to take Harrison up after Christmas if weather permits.
