Our Ohio - part 2

Oops... Kinda forgot that I didn't finish the rest of our fun Ohio trip! I swear, summer wipes out any intelligence I might have. Anyway, back to our trip.
Our second day in Ohio was Wednesday. The weather was about a thousand times cooler than home (figures) so it was nice to get out and not be a sweaty mess. We played around the house, found a super cool playground and took a trip to the grocery store.
Of course we found a playground!
We stayed in that evening except for a walk around the neighborhood. We briefly visited a neighbor's baby ducks too. Harrison took another bath and yes, he face-timed (because that's what kids these days do..). I will say it was extremely nice to have our iPad with us. Not only for face-time but for "movie" time. Harrison frequently requests "movies" aka cartoons so before we read bedtime books we watch an episode to wind down.
Thursday Harrison and I loaded into the car and headed to Pique, Ohio to visit our Thiele family! Instead of driving the 3 hours to visit them in Harrison, Ohio they very kindly offered to meet us halfway!! The drive wasn't bad (I had lots of fruit snacks) and we didn't get lost! We met at the Pique mall and from there headed to an elementary school to play.
This way Grandma!
   Yes, at a playground.
Hey who's in there?!
Harrison enjoyed screaming to Aunt Kara through the twisty slide.
Aunt Kara - You are so silly!!
Being all crazy-like on the merry-go-round with Uncle Kristofer. (I know, there's like maybe 2 of these left in the world and I found one!!)
Faster, faster!
And then we all sat down to enjoy our lunch together at Cracker Barrel. Someone only ate his french fries and pickles, but whatever. They're both vegetables, right?
Hmm.. what should I do next Grandma?
Grandma was so nice to let Harrison pick out a new baby. My son picked a pink and purple stuffed guinea pig... I don't even know what to say... We hung out in the infamous rocking chairs for at least 30 minutes while Harrison rocked his new baby.
Rocking my baby.
He also schooled Uncle Kristofer and Aunt Kara in a mad game of checkers. (Aunt Kelly was there too, I just don't have the pictures to prove it.. Sorry Kelly!)
Watch this move guys!
We had a great day and are so thankful Grandma was able to meet us halfway!! We miss you guys already and can not wait to see you again!!!! Harrison promptly fell asleep about 1.5 minutes after we left. We made it to Findlay no problem but had a slight detour trying to figure out how to get back to the house. Lucky for us we did get to see this line of ducks crossing the road though!
Super cute but there were a lot of them!
We got home just after Adam - Harrison was very excited to see Daddy! We spent the evening in and of course, the boys relaxed (like boys do).
It is VERY tough to be a Peak man... Well, apparently.

Well that wraps up part 2. Hopefully part 3 will throw down tomorrow. Keep your eyes peeled!

Our Ohio - part 1

We just got back from our Ohio trip Sunday. We had a lot of fun seeing family and friends and partying it up at Uncle Daniel's graduation party. For this first post, I'll cover the beginning.
Harrison and I left Tuesday for our flight. This is the first time Harrison has had his own ticket. I can't lie. I know it's expensive but it sure was nice to have two seats and to have my own personal space (moms you know what I'm talking about).
Plane? Plane?!
Harrison loved looking out his window, playing with the Sky Mall magazine and eating snacks. I broke our pacifier rule though. He had it within 10 minutes. Hey, I was thinking of the other passengers though...
Night night Llama Llama.
After we landed in Detroit it was a 1.5 hr car ride to Findlay to see GJ, Pop, Uncle Matthew (Foo foo for short!), Uncle Daniel and Brodie.
Thank god for iPads... and the Fresh Beat Band, Bubble Guppies and Olivia!
As expected as soon as we get to the Peak house, Harrison started playing with his favorite Brodie. Finally a dog that wants him to play!

Harrison and I both took amazing naps and then hung out the rest of the night. GJ loved playing with him. I loved the breather too!
Just playing around with GJ.
Before bed we busted out a bath complete with some new bath toys (thank you Target $1 bins!). Remember those little capsules you would put in warm water? The capsule dissolves and out pops a sponge in the shape of a animal? Yeah, we played with those for quite some time. We talked to Nana and Pawpaw (my parents) via FaceTime as well as Adam before bed. FaceTime is the greatest! I'm happy to report that Harrison still fit in his pack n' play (barely) and slept through the entire night (sometimes on trips it takes a night to get used to it). Even though we shared a room, it all worked out perfectly!

Be watching for part 2!!
