What's been going on?

I've been really slacking at this whole blog thing. I guess you could say the pregnancy has kind of sidetracked me. Oops. Here's a few highlights over the past month.

Valentine's Day
We (I) made some really simple Valentines this year for Harrison to take to his daycare. Thank you Pinterest! Harrison had also decorated a Valentine's box a few weeks before.

No sugar - just some rainbow goldfish!
Harrison was so cute - he kept saying "Happy Valentime's Day!"

Of course his cookie has purple frosting and LOTS of sprinkles!

Snow Storm 2013
In February we had two giant snow storms a week apart. Area schools were closed 2 days 2 weeks in a row. Last year I missed the snow a bit (we got maybe 1 inch total all winter). This winter I was ready for spring after New Year's. I'm very thankful all the snow has finally melted!

Just a little snow.
I think Adam is really over shoveling snow as well.

His famous last words: If I jump in the snow will you take a picture?
The only good thing out of the snow is that it was Harrison's first time to get out and play in snow. Sure it snowed his first year but I doubt he remembers that. Luckily his daycare went out and had lots of fun playing!!
The boy loves the snow!

In like a lion!
March came in like a lion in our house. The first weekend in March Harrison got a little stomach bug. I hate seeing him not feeling well. Thank goodness he was better within 48 hours.

Such a snuggly, tired boy.

In other news
Potty training - epic fail on my part here. We gave it a shot one day during winter break. That was all I could take. I will gladly pay someone to train him for me.
Nursery - oh are we supposed to be getting ready for another baby?! I know May is close but it still seems so far away. I think Adam's starting to get anxious though about getting everything ready. Hopefully we'll be getting Baby Girl's new furniture sooner than later. I have it all planned out in my head..
Big boy room - yes Harrison will be moving rooms to his new big boy room. Once again all of the ideas are right here **points to head** but they just haven't quite happened yet. Harrison's new room currently is full of furniture that needs to be moved to my parents' house. Yeah, add that to the to-do list too.

Sigh. I think that's it for now. I'm on 2 week appointments now. I'm definitely not sleeping at night. And Harrison is definitely waking up at 7-7:30am even on the weekends. (What happened to my late sleeper?)

In the home stretch!

Well hopefully we're not that close to the end but you know what I mean. Third trimester is upon us and all of the sudden I realized that if Baby Sister is like brother she could be here in as little as 8 wks. YIKES! At least her clothes are all clean.

Apparently I make a good pillow. 26.5wks.
How far Along: 28 wks 6 days
Total weight gain/loss: 15 lbs gained total! (She's treating me nice here.)
Maternity clothes? Yes - everything all the time except for bed. Thank goodness for XL shirts.
Stretch marks? New ones - who knows. Old ones - still there...
Sleep: I had 3 good nights this week and then one completely miserable one. Oh well.
Best moment of the week: Passing my glucose test!!!!!
Have you told family and friends: Yep!
Miss anything: Moving like a normal person.
Movement: Yes, right on my bladder usually. Thank you sweet child.

Exactly 28wks!

Food cravings: What am I not eating?
Anything make you queasy or sick: If I don't eat enough or fast enough, I will start to feel gross.
Have you started to show yet: Yes. Currently feeling like a whale.
Gender: After 3 different doctor appts, still a girl.
Labor signs: No.
Belly button in or out: In - but hanging on by a thread.
Wedding rings on or off: Off - luckily I have another ring that fits.
Happy or Moody most of the time: A little of both. Really tired for sure.
Looking forward to: No more cold weather! Struggling trying to zip my coats!

Sweet girl's first tutu! A gift from a few coworkers.
To spring!

25 and counting.

Things are just rolling along over here. Harrison is enrolled in THREE year old preschool next year. It's just nuts. Baby Girl is doing her thing; growing, moving and starting to give me heartburn. Spring is (hopefully) around the corner. Here is our current update:

22wks - Catching some rays with Baby Girl.
How far Along: 25 wks 4 days
Total weight gain/loss: 11 lbs gained total! (Still no idea how this has happened... )
Maternity clothes? Yes - everything all the time except for bed. Thank goodness for XL shirts.
Stretch marks? New ones - no. Old ones - still there...
Sleep: Since Baby Girl is on the move, I find she likes to dance when I like to go to sleep. Sleep is hit or miss.
Best moment of the week: Learning I didn't gain 25lbs last month.
Have you told family and friends: Yep!
Miss anything: Sleeping. Putting on shoes/socks easily.
Movement: Yes, right on my bladder usually. Thank you sweet child.

25.5wks - Please excuse my wet hair.
I'm trying to hide it with the phone.
Food cravings: Water. Ice cream for dessert. String cheese. Yogurt. Cinnamon raisin bagel chips.
Anything make you queasy or sick: If I don't eat enough or fast enough, I will start to feel gross.
Have you started to show yet: Yes. Feeling like a house.
Gender: After 3 different doctor appts, still a girl.
Labor signs: No.
Belly button in or out: In.
Wedding rings on or off: Off - luckily I have another ring that fits.
Happy or Moody most of the time: A little of both. Really tired for sure.
Looking forward to: Warmer spring weather. I can't wait for open windows and lots of lazy naps!

At our last appt, the doctor gave us the hospital packet. For a second, I freaked out a bit. When did we get so far along that I'm ready for the hospital packet?! Of course we don't do our paper work until 34wks or so but still. I actually forgot last Tuesday was 25wks. When I did the math and realized only 15 (or less) wks to go, another anxiety attack. Everything seems so much closer now. I probably should start reading those books again. I don't remember everything.

The goal in the next month is to get Baby Girl's bedding under control (curse you Pottery Barn for sucking me in) and her furniture. Of course Harrison will need to move rooms too. I'm interested to see how that will go.

Enough freak-outs for today,
~Emily
